Current Animals Rights Issues
April 27, 1998 Young seals killed for sex potionKudos to Paul Watson and his Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Veteran seal hunt opponent, Watson, took a ship to the scene of the hunt for the first time since 1983 -- when Canada briefly jailed him and for a time seized his ship the Sea Shepherd II. His ship this time was the 657-ton Sea Shepherd III with an ice-breaking hull and a crew of celebrities including: Pierce Brosnan, William Shatner, Brigitte Bardot, Linda Blair and Jackie Chan. Watson called for Canada to cease subsidizing the international sex potion trade based on animal parts. Young seals are slaughtered by the thousands for their penises.Information obtained from the Animal People newspaper.
