Who let the dogs in?
August 19, 2007
Dedicated to the cowardly Democratic Party members whose votes affirmed the Bush administration's unfounded right to illegal searches and seizures and warrantless wiretapping of citizens in the global war on terror:
(sung to the tune of the children's song "This Old Man'')
This Democrat, he caved in
He let Bush swipe our
Civil liberties again
(Refrain)
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
This Democrat, he did, too
First search and seizure
Now eavesdropping, too
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
This Democrat, didn't understand
A congressional majority
Means you have the upper hand
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
This Democrat, he flipped, too
Let Dubya take your library card
And flip FISA, too
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
This Democrat, said it wasn't fair
That Bert Gonzales keeps playing
Truth or dare
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
Oh, happy day, a woman o'er the House
But if this what you call Housekeeping
Better find another spouse
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
Election Day is looming
Candidates abound
But none baring teeth
Among the Democratic hounds
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
With Democrats in tights
Who needs the Bill of Rights?
The GOP has had its day
Beyond two-party rights
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
If George's a lame duck
Then Harry's Elmer Fudd
Dems surrendered freedoms
With a great big Thud!
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
You have the right to remain silent
It's best that you do
'Cause the feds are really listening
And will come out after you
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
Karl is leaving
But Dick's still in the House
At least Denny's going
What a spineless louse!
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
Just when you thought, Bush's end was near
The Democratic votes
Made it all unclear
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
When you thought you'd seen it all
Thought you'd had your fill
You find out no one's looking out for you
Up on the Hill
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
Better sound the trumpet
The coronation's near
An imperial presidency!
Exactly what we feared
With a knickknack paddywhack
Give those Dems a bone
This Democrat went limping home
