Syria: An awakening for the political Left
by Nicholas Hills
As the brutality in Syria begins to spread throughout the region, the United States can no longer afford to choose the time at which it confronts this crisis. The time is now. Bashar-al-Assad’s regime is committing intolerable war crimes against the Syrian people, who are demanding a long overdue change in power. Spilling into its bordering countries of Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, and Jordan, the violence in Syria exhausted at the expense of many innocent people deserves an informed discussion at the very least. Time Warner Cable: Anti-Union
by Free Press reader
I don't like corporate monopolies but I needed to pay the rent, so I got a job at Time Warner Cable in the fall of 2012. My job title was Technical Support Representative. To a lesser degree, I was happy to be working for the company that produces Real Time with Bill Maher. Insight Cable Company was recently bought up by Time Warner Cable. The transition from Insight Cable to TIme Warner was happening gradually as I started working there. One thing myself, and many other employees, were concerned about was the number of people getting fired. It seemed like one employee would lose his or her job every two weeks. A co-worker approached me and told me she was interested in starting a union. She and I began talking to workers to see if they were interested in forming a union and we got a good response. African American Ramification of Belief in the Great Distraction of Christianity (The backlash of self hate via assimilation)
”Think of the tragedy of teaching our children not to doubt.” ~Clarence Darrow
African Americans have been trying to prove their moral equivalence to euro America for so long they have forgotten their actual and natural human equivalence. Once America agreed African Americans would be better off led by preachers the damage had begun. African American thinker and author J.A.

Same sex marriage
by Joe Bialek
This letter is in response to the articles covering the case before the
United States Supreme Court concerning same sex marriage.
A homosexual person is one who is sexually attracted to others of the same
sex. Except for a genetic variation of nature, they are virtually identical
to their heterosexual counter parts. They feel the very same kind of
attraction to the same sex as heterosexuals feel about the opposite sex.

When Bill Moss banged his shoe
by Free Press reader
How ironic is it that on the ten-year anniversary (Tuesday Feb 4th, 2003) of when Bill Moss banged his shoe at a Columbus School Board meeting to bring attention to the rampant deception and corruption taking place within the district, a Columbus City Schools official responsible for the recent data rigging scandal announces his resignation.

The original Keystone XL Pipeline proposal would be an environmental disaster!
by Al Gabel
The Keystone XL Pipeline proposed to move tar sands oil from northern Canada to the Caribbean gulf coast would result in great risk to our fresh water supply. It would not increase the supply of fuel for the U.S. Big oil companies would sell it on the world market at several times the price of U. S. oil. They would make many billions of dollars in profit.

Animal Rights Laws
by Vivian Stevenson
As a registered voter and citizen of Ohio, I no longer have to wonder why we can't get animal abuse laws passed? During House Session-December 5, 2012-Part 2, our legislators can be heard joking and laughing about raping animals while they discuss a bestiality bill against raping dogs which I am unhappy to inform you is legal in OHIO, other than being charged with a misdemeanor Animal Abuse. They talked about how sheep don't have enough protection in Ohio; following by open laughter (65:38 time), not chuckles or snickers, out right belly laughing. There were even a couple comments by a business man about his personal relationship with his sheep. Again laughter, not chuckles or snickers, out right belly laughing. For our lawmakers out rightly joke and laugh out loud about animal abuse shows there is a bigger problem than most citizens and voters realize. This is such unprofessional and immoral, uncompassionate behavior for elected officials. Governor Kasich, VOTERS AND CITIZENS OF OHIO, you should be totally and utterly disgusted to have these kinds of people representing our state. I’M DISGUSTED and I want something done about this. How about you? READ THE ARTICLE
The NAACP commemorates World AIDS Day
by Roslyn M. Brock
Fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS has been an uphill battle for over 30 years. This disease has disproportionally affected our community. 1 in 16 African American men and 1 in 32 African American women will be diagnosed with HIV during their lifetime. If Black America were its own country, it would rank 16th in the world for people living with HIV.

Lost military veteran
by Peter Macdonald Sgt USMC Semper Fi
Heroes, parades, and much more for the men and women that serve in our Armed Forces as they first return. There is a neglected percentage that is swept under the rug and never is seen as they once were when we first returned. The men and women where the silent demons of years past come to haunt and destroy, as the faded glory once recognized by others gone. The commanding attitude with the suspicious survival instincts that civilized society sees as dominance and miss trust to justify under safety issues to ignore or isolate you. Incarceration rather than treatment for the medical conditions of war no one wants to see as the cause and effect of what happens. Combat fatigue, PTSD depending on the war how civilized society rates us for the useless life we have become. Homeless on the street because this nation will not recognize medical conditions that are not recorded in the time limit established by those that never serve. Politician’s refusal to listen and hear the bums sleeping under bridges in filth and shame because our uniforms are now dirty and the sins of our history clean citizens can and will not accept. We are the men and women of yesterdays Armed Forces that some day today’s men and women of today’s Armed Forces will be in the future.
