Departments Letters to the Editor/ Free Press Forum Fitrakis: City of Peace I agree that the war in Iraq is the moral issue of our time. I also agree that the Columbus City Council has ample reason to pass the "City for Peace" resolution. However, I must also agree with the Dispatch that passing the resolution would be largely an empty gesture. As evidence, I would point to the 283 cities, 10 counties, and 17 state legislatures which have already passed such resolutions, with no discernible effect. I think it's time -- no, past time -- to do something more concrete.
