Teenage politics
by Sammi Cerino
May 19, 2008

The Obama and Clinton campaign has had a enormous effect on teenagers.  The teenagers that can vote and even the ones who can't. I have been affected by the Obama campaign, I believe in his campaign one hundred percent! I have made and impact on many teenagers like myself to follow his campaign and get active. I have sent postcards to Pennsylvania and I have went to his rallies and I have helped out with his campaign. Some of my friends do not understand how I was brought up. I have been brought up on the first amendment and I have my right to speak.

Some of my friends didn't even know about the race until I got active in the obama race and I can honestly tell you that I wasn't surprised. In my society teenagers are not brought up to care about our nations future and that they shouldn't worry about politics and I strongly disagree, I think that kids should get more involved in politics because, we are this countries future and we should get an early start on how we can fix the common problems on housing equities and gas prices and the economy. Teenagers need to realize that we need to step up to the plate and get active and start showing the rest of the country that even teenagers can make a difference. I have no problem speaking my mind you can ask any one of my friends, im loud and I do not like to be shushed or put down because I am only a teenager and that im not old enough to make a difference. Well I can and whoever says that a teenager can't make a difference in politics I say right back try me! A lot of people say since im a girl I should follow Senator Hillary Clinton, because she would be the first women president. Well I do not follow her because with her you are not just getting Hillary you are getting Bill to, we do not need him again! I would love to see a women president, just not Hillary Clinton. I do not like her policies. I believe that barrack obama will change this country and unite the Democratic Party and that's the president we need not someone that will just give us healthcare and that doesn't have hope in America. Obama does. I have talked to many people and they have been surprised that I am active in the obama campaign I have also argued with many people about his policies and I have won those arguments. I hope that many other teenagers get active in politics because even know it's a dirty game you can learn a lot in such a short amount of time.
