Dispatches from the Front Women in Black by Free Press Staff November 18, 2002 On September 11 this year, while thousands of Central Ohioans were dutifully forming a human flag downtown, the Women in Black met at 15th and High to protest the escalation of violence and oppression around the world and to promote peace. Every Friday since the U.S. bombing of Afghanistan, a group of Women in Black have gathered at this corner at 5pm. Now the time has changed to 5:30-6:30pm. Join in the vigil for peace any Friday, wear black, and if you are a man, you are also welcome. |
