Another day, another Israeli massacre in South Lebanon. Hassan Atwi and his wife Zainab Raslan were killed in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon on October 6, 2025. The strike targeted their car in the village of Zabdin, near Nabatiyeh, according to Dearborn.org-News & media website.

Hassan Atwi, who is an engineer, was reportedly blinded in a pager blast last year and his wife lost her right hand. The couple had two sons who were killed during the 2023-24 Israel air bombing campaign of Lebanon.

The Lebanese health ministry also reported Monday's attack and confirmed, "two people were killed and one wounded when an Israeli drone strike targeted a car on the Zebdin road in the Nabatiyeh district" of southern Lebanon, reported the New Arab Staff and Agencies on October 6.

Over 4,000 people were killed in Israel's attacks in Lebanon since the November 27, 2024 ceasefire agreement was signed.

It should be noted here that Israel continues to carry out air strikes on towns in Lebanon despite agreeing to a ceasefire it has repeatedly violated—bringing violations to 4,500 versus one violation by Hezbollah, according to the Lebanese army. Source: Ahram online on September 19, 2025.

The Israeli Death Forces (IDF) claim Hassan Atwi was a member of Hezbollah but, regardless of that, the Israeli strike is a violation of the ceasefire agreement. In addition, Atwi is a blind man and constitutes no threat to the Israeli Occupying Forces in Lebanon. But let's assume Atwi was a member of Hezbullah, he was in his country and was no threat against the Israeli army, who should have vacated South Lebanon under the November 2024 ceasefire agreement, which call upon Israel to withdraw its invading South Lebanon completely.

Neither US President Donald Trump nor US Sec. of State Marco Rubio felt that horrible crime was not news-worthy to talk about publicly. So, Americans were left in the dark about a Lebanese couple murdered in a very horrible way by so-called 'our only reliable ally in the world.' The ugly truth is that the US government does not give a damn about the lives of innocent Palestinian or Lebanese victims when the IDF or the illegal Israeli setters are the perpetrators and US officials will bend backward to appease and protect Israel from being held accountable.

Nobody believes the lies that the Israeli military are only targeting Hezbollah and Hamas fighters. Israeli leaders even deny there is genocide or starvation in Gaza and the audacity to say that civilians are killed by Hamas and civilians in South Lebanon are loyal to Hezbollah.

The conflict between Israel and Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah was ignited when Israel launched a full-scale war against Hamas in Gaza, which erupted on Oct. 8, 2023. Hezbollah felt compelled to come to the aid of their Palestinian brethren. However, on November 27, 2024, a ceasefire agreement was signed by Israel, Lebanon, and five mediating countries, including the United States and France.

Lebanese political analyst Hasan Dorr has posted a surveillance camera captures the raid on Zabdin along with this eloquent tweet after the massacre which summed up the consensus of all decent people everywhere, "The enemy waited for Hassan Atwi's wife until she reached the car and targeted her so she was murdered along with him! This enemy has surpassed the limits of vileness and despicableness with its criminality!"

Finally, this heinous crime against this Lebanese couple should be added to long list of war crimes that the Israeli security forces has committed or been accused of committing since the founding of Israel in 1948. These have included murder, intentional targeting of civilians, killing prisoners of war and surrendered combatants, indiscriminate attacks, collective punishment, starvation, the use of human shields, sexual violence and rape, torture, forced transfer, bombing schools, hospitals, churches, and mosques, enforced disappearance, targeting journalists, attacking civilian and protected objects, and genocide.
