Several central Ohio pro-Palestinian groups organized an event to honor the memories of 20,000+ children killed in Gaza by a holding a public prayer and reading the name of children killed aloud, in an effort to humanize the victims.

Reading of the names were held between on Saturday September 20, 2025, between 8:00am - 7pm EDT. The prayer was led by Interfaith leaders from local Christian and Muslim communities on 6:30pm EDT *Location*: Bridge Park, Dublin, Ohio.

Gaza has become a graveyard for children

According to information provided at the event, Gaza has become a graveyard for children. A breakdown of data on the victims of war in Gaza shows that:

* 1,008 infants under the age of 1 were murdered by Israel
* 2,888 toddlers aged 1-3 have been murdered by Israel
* At least one Palestinian child has been killed every HOUR on average by Israeli Death Forces (IDF) in Gaza over nearly 23 months of war, with the number of children killed now surpassing 20,000.
* More kids have been killed in Gaza than in ALL WARS combined in modern history.
* A classroom filled with children are killed every day in Gaza.
* Gaza has THE LARGEST child cohort of amputees in history!
* Hind Rajab, who is 5 years old, received 355 bullets into her small body. Never forget!
* More than 17,000 have been deprived of both parents as of April 4, 2025.

More than 20,000 Palestinian children have lost their parents since the start of Israel’s war on the besieged Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics says, according to a report by Al Jazeera of April 4, 2025.

In a statement on the eve of Palestinian Children’s Day, the agency said "39,384 children in Gaza have lost one or both parents after 534 days of Israel’s assault, which has ravaged the tiny enclave and displaced most of its 2.3 million strong population."

The bureau said among them are "about 17,000 children who have been deprived of both parents since October 2023, when Israel launched its genocidal offensive.

“These children are living in tragic conditions, with many forced to take refuge in torn tents or destroyed homes, in a near total absence of social care and psychological support,” the statement by the bureau said. “The Gaza Strip is suffering from the largest orphan crisis in modern history.”

No surprise!

On September 18, 2025, the United States shamefully once again vetoed for the 6th time a UN resolution demanding an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, following a vote in the Security Council on Thursday.

The negative vote was cast as the 15-member Council held its 10,000th meeting against the backdrop of famine spreading in the besieged enclave and an ongoing Israeli offensive to take full control of Gaza City.

The draft also demanded the release of all hostages held by Hamas and for Israel to lift all restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid and ensure that it is safely distributed to the population – in particular by UN agencies. The US is one of five permanent Council members who possess the right to veto, based on a report by UN News.
